York have confirmed the majority of the Ebor Stand will be open for this weekend's John Smith's Cup meeting following a fire at the track.
A blaze in the area of the fifth-floor goods lift last Wednesday evening has damaged some of the technical systems in the grandstand, forcing officials to make changes to the facilities.
Following a review with the local council, the York management have announced the stand will be open on five levels, ground floor to the fourth floor with the affected fifth floor closed.
Toilets will be housed in a temporary structure due to damage to the ventilation system controls while the air conditioning in the stand will also be out of action.
The Eclipse Restaurant, which was the nearest area to the fire, will be closed and alternative arrangements have been made for diners. _________________ http://www.artforums.co.uk |
